Laser Back Surgery at Laser Spine Institute: Only the Best for Our Patients
The surgeons at Laser Spine Institute’s world class facilities have one mission: to provide the latest options in innovative laser back surgery available today to patients all across the globe. With total commitment to outstanding patient care, Laser Spine Institute now performs more minimally invasive spine procedures per month than any other spine facility in the world.
Laser Spine Institute has performed thousands of laser back surgery procedures to provide relief for a wide range of painful back problems such as spinal arthritis, bulging disc, sciatica, bone spurs, degenerative disc disease, and many more. Our tremendously successful laser back surgery treatments are endoscopic. The following is a brief description of how our typical endoscopic procedure is performed:
- The patient is given deep IV sedation and a local anesthetic to numb the surgery site.
- A small incision is made.
- A series of tiny hollow tubes are gently inserted into the incision over one another to make room for the surgical tools.
- A fiber optic camera with 50X magnification, and other necessary surgical instruments, are guided down the channel, giving the surgeon a close-up look at the area.>
- As the surgeon works to release trapped nerves, the patient is conscious, and therefore able to tell the surgeon when the pain is gone.
- An anesthesiologist sits with the patient throughout the laser spine surgery, giving the patient intravenous fluids and medication and monitoring the patient’s vital signs.
Our laser spine surgery lasts, on average, about an hour. Once the surgeon has completed the surgery, the tubes are removed from the incision and the patient will receive a couple stitches. Then the patient is taken into a recovery area where he or she will be monitored, medicated, and offered some light refreshments. Within about an hour of the surgery, patients are able to walk around and are soon discharged to their home or hotel.
Many of our patients view their laser spine surgery as a miracle that has given them a new chance for a normal, pain-free life. To find out if our minimally invasive options can be used to treat your back pain, please contact Laser Spine Institute for a free MRI or CT scan review.
